Camping Domaine D'anglas

Just finished 6 nights at this campsite in our caravan. The location is absolutely stunning and I really loved the concept the campsite was trying to create but unfortunately our time was totally spoilt by the restaurant. We have never received such awful treatment - we dined there on our last night. There was one very kind and friendly waitress (to the owners: she had short hair and glasses) but the others treated us terribly. Our main waitress couldn’t even stand still to take our order and was very rude. We honestly felt it was due to us not being French - even when we attempted to speak French (we are English) she was very abrupt with us and didn’t take a moment to listen. It completely ruined our time there and we would not return. They messed our order up several times and ignored us the rest of the time. Please understand, this was not a cultural difference or misunderstanding: she was being rude on purpose. I think the owners need to be a bit more present in this part of their business and give their staff the training they need. Such a shame. The location is stunning and the river is a wonderful place to be. The showers could do with some attention for a 4 star campsite: they only stay on for a moment which is quite difficult when you are trying to wash yourself and (in my case) our two toddlers. However I could get passed that if the staff were friendly.

We stayed here for a week in early July 2022. Pitches are of a good size with plenty of shade. Showers/toilets were good and clean. Site seems well managed and staff are always pleasant and helpful.We ate at the restaurant one night, pizza not great , rather soggy and the cheese overpowering for a pizza however the burger was excellent. Their own wine is available by the glass, reasonably priced and very enjoyable. The natural pool is interesting and very pleasant , there are fish in the pool with you , also lots of butterflies and dragonflies coming down to the water. The river is also accessible for swimming however there is no real beach area to sit on or leave your belongings while you swim, just a muddy bank. Overall a good site and would recommend however I feel the price is far too high compared to similar sites we've stayed on so we wouldn't return unless the price improves.

good place to camp. Personnel is very professional. They give you a welcoming pack with lots of information about the.camping and what to do in the region. The pool is as advertised, and very nice. However I did not award it 5 stars mainly due to the fact that the emplacements premium places with hammock can resemble a classic great war battlefield, which makes it hard for you if you have a tent to place. See pictures. I also didn't like that they took my Id card or credit card in exchange for the card to open the campground gate. The roads in the campground can also be a hazard to your vehicle. Depending on where you are the way to the toilet can be quite an adventurous journey, because of the layout of the campground. But all in all these points are minor so 4 Stars
